YouTube Music Desktop App - Cross-platform (Windows 10, Mac, Linux)

Since now YouTube Music is more or less inevitable for those liking the Google ecosystem (and I start to enjoy it and grieving from GPM since it has tuned to my musical tastes) it is worth for those who haven't heard about it, to look at "YouTube Music Desktop App" by Adler Luiz ( u/adlerluiz)
It makes the YTM experience on Windows 10 very pleasant with the mini player and possibility to thumbs up/down with shortcut key and to skip disliked song, among other nice additional features.
Edit: there's one drawback, it's huge on Windows 10, 318MB as of today. His GPM app was 600MB+ too.

Youtube Music Desktop App question/issue.

I have been noticing that Youtube Music Desktop App doing something strange. While playing songs from my uploaded Library on "Shuffle all" occasionally the song will stop playing at exactly 2:09 into the song, and then skip to the next song on the list. Is anyone else experiencing this?

YouTube Red (YouTube Music) Desktop App?

So, I'm currently using Spotify as my main music streaming service. My student discount is coming to an end soon as I'll be graduating in a bit. I've been considering switching to YouTube Red as I'd be paying the same price for either service.
I've also noticed that I've been enjoying YouTube's music recommendations a lot and I tend to find a lot my new music that way rather than Spotify. I also love the infinite library YouTube has because I listen to songs from many different countries...So YouTube Red is looking really appealing to me.
But YouTube music doesn't seem to have a desktop player (mac) and I rely HEAVILY on the Spotify desktop app. I love using my keyboard music controls, and just having a separate app dedicated to music rather than having to hunt through my tabs to change songs.
Does anyone know if there is a YT Music App or a reasonable third party substitute that can take the place of my Spotify desktop app? It'd be great if the app allows you to log in an use your playlists and all that. This desktop app issue is literally the only thing holding me back from switching over, haha.

Youtube music in Flutter?

I changed my music app from Spotify to Youtube Music. The reason is pretty much that I like some old anime songs that I used to watch as a kid and it cheer my day up.
Youtube music app in mac is a PWA and it is nowhere near the level of Spotify.
This is the only reason I might switch back.
I've heard here and there that there is a possibility that they are creating a new Youtube Music desktop app with Flutter.
Do you know anything about this?

Gnome display artifacting after sleep.

I'm running Ubuntu 20.04 and I get this weird display corruption in certain applications after I put my computer to sleep (it happens after it wakes up). If I don't put my computer to sleep this will not happen.
I'm a long time linux user and a programmer so don't be afraid to get technical.
I'm using a 1080 Ti NVIDIA-SMI 450.80.02 Driver Version: 450.80.02 CUDA Version: 11.0
Here is an example with youtube music for desktop. It also happens with VS Code. image of it here
I suspect this a gnome issue, but I don't know how to properly debug it. I have seen some stuff that might be related in dmesg like:
 youtube-music-d[72154]: segfault at ffffc23d2dd8bd00 ip 000055cb55cb28bf sp 00007ffe7e05a520 error 5 in youtube-music-desktop-app[55cb55bef000+5f85000
So this basically means it is trying to access memory that is not allocated to the program. It is not necessarily malicious, but most likely there is some bug where it is pointing to the wrong area of memory. This might be particular to youtube music desktop.
Journalctl reports a lot of issues like this:

Gnome itself also graphical issues of its own after a week of not shutting down. It isn't quite as severe, but it is noticeable. So if anyone has any idea of what could be going on any help is much appreciated.
Unrelated side note. Can someone suggest a good screenshot tool that they like where I can just press print screen and select an area of the screen and it will save to a file? The build in tool into Ubuntu doesn't do that, I have to paste it into a document.

"Favorites" disappeared on Youtube app and desktop page after Play Music to YT Music transfer

So like the title says... I can now only access my favorites if I open the dashboard tab in the YT Studio app. Otherwise, "Favorites" are no longer to be found. Ive uninstalled YT Music and reinstalled YouTube app to no avail. Any ideas?

LPT: Wanna listen to music on YouTube with a locked screen or outside the app? Just go to chrome and type YouTube and select the first link, click and hold it and select open in new tab, and select desktop version. You can play something and leave the app.

If you use the desktop version of youtube on your phones search engine. You can listen to music without being on the browser by choosing the song then go to the lock screen and press play(press the home button before going to the lock screen if you want to use another app while listening to music)

But you know what I'v found when I opened youtube web app? Sure, they just swapped like and dislike buttons on web and desktop apps! Are you kidding me, youtube?! Come on UI guyz.. nice joke, u got me :)
Maybe youtube tries to make us less stupid with this attention training? Or, maybe, it's just schizophrenia comes closer?))
I think buttons should be like in web app: like on the left and dislike on the right - as western culture left to right readers convenction.

So I was randomly going through the music on youtube when suddenly something prompted me to play the music on the youtube music desktop app (im using pc)
I know this is a free version with ads, but I was wondering if they were gonna automatically charge me after a month. I dont want to buy the premium version and am fine with the ads.

Is there an actual desktop app?

I was looking for a real desktop app for Windows and only found this: https://www.googleplaymusicdesktopplayer.com/ After looking into the code, I saw it was electron and I really don't want to waste my resources for youtube music, when the browser (Firefox) handles that part better. Is there a true Youtube Music desktop app that is not based on electron?
