Well, Judges were on the edge of our seats for this one! While there was little question that Clarence covered his JoJolity better than his opponent, in and outside of the judges’ panel there was a lot of strong opinions on whose solid strategy had the more critical flaws. Clarence had a nine-point lead coming out of the judge deliberation front, and with how neck-and-neck the popularity results were his vastly superior jojolity performance just blew his opponent out of the water. Let this be a lesson about taking every single category seriously.
Today we have yet another deathmatch like M1, but gets into something that people paying attention to the schedule might have already noticed: every third match is going to be a 2v2 of some kind. Two combatants from each team involved are up against each other now, and you vote for the duo you think has the better strategy as per usual. That said, M2 is still accepting votes until 11:59 CST of the ninth, so it’s not too late to tip the scales in favor of one of those teams!
Scenario
Clarence Creedwater and Felix Arrowsmith were not the only ones who took [Stand Proud’s advice to find a “cold, frozen place place”](link to match 1 goes here), unsurprisingly enough, but there’s no short supply of those around the planet for Stand users to meet and cross paths. For five such users, a wide expanse of Alaskan tundra was where they were drawn to, receiving a tip that someone with knowledge of an artifact not unlike their own may also gather there.
“Damn cold out here,” Beachcombing Bas Haze complains, shivering as the sound of feet crunching snow filled the air around him. He grips the shovel and sincerely, sincerely hopes he’s not going to need to dig up anything in this weather. It’s pretty much the opposite of what he’s used to. “You two, uh, sure there’s anything here?”
“I think this might be a trap, Blake,” Mr. Moon meowed, to the confusion of him and the detective’s musclebound companion. It was reasonably likely that, fair as the thought was, Mr. Moon just wanted to get out of the cold. “Even if it isn’t, I want to get somewhere warm before a blizzard starts.”
Blake Falstaff rolls her eyes and scoffs at her companions’ complaints. “Don’t you know anything about a Tundra? They get maybe twenty centimeters of precipitation a year, give or take. A blizzard out of nowhere jus’ isn’t gonna happen. Now the sooner we’ve found these other Stand user, the sooner we can knock ‘em out and interrogate ‘em somewhere toasty.”
“E-easy for you to say in that big coat…” Bas sighs, rubbing his hands together now. Not long after he’s said that, though, Blake stops Bas in his place, pointing forward at another group looking towards them.
A longish ways away, at the same time, Marco F. Caine was actually on a similar topic of discussion with the Oxford-Educated Geoff Wetton. “Really? No shit. Then all this snow’s just… Been here?”
Geoff nods, adjusting his raincoat. “This is elementary school stuff, Marco,” he remarks, “all the soil underneath the soil is in a state of permafrost.” With the immense heat-based potential of him and the Detroit gangster’s stands, the pair were a natural choice for investigating what was fully expected to be a hairy situation in the Alaskan wilderness.
“Hm… Guess you just forget a lot after you’ve stopped learnin’,” Marco says, rubbing his shoulder and looking forward. “Hey, is that… Why would two people take their cat out here?”
“Something that odd… I’ve heard that a few other members of this hunt are animals, but didn’t expect to see one so soon.” Geoff decides with certainty that these are enemy stand users, gazing across the snowy field as Blake and Bas do the same, the odd black cat standing in front of the former. “They look like they’re sizing us up.”
“Geoff, they’re like 200 meters-”
“Heat of the Moment!”
As the impulsive student’s stand appears, the Crimson Chiefs find their suspicions confirmed, and it’s not long after that that The Wanderer and Gas Gas Gas emerge as well.
“Knew it,” Blake remarks, “let’s not be dumbasses and rush right into this. They’re pretty far away, but it’s clear as day out, so it should be easy enough to gauge-”
Much to the surprise of both teams’ Brits, snow suddenly, rapidly begins to fall, the winds kick up dramatically, and the forms of the opposite teams become little more than vague outlines vanishing in the snowfield.
“The hell? Geoff, didn’t you just say-?”
“Someone’s stand must be doing this!” Blake says this at the same time as Geoff, though the detective caps it off with a look at Mr. Moon.
“I tried to warn you, Blake.” The cat prances around, clearly feeling slightly smug about this. “Well, these guys aren’t about to get away. Let’s end this quick and find someplace warm to take these fellows.”
Location: The Arctic tundra of Alaska, in the middle of a violent snowstorm. The clearing in question is wide and flat, around 400 meters of area, with roughly flat ground. The snowstorm is extremely violent, and visibility is low. Both teams were only just able to see each other before the storm suddenly kicked up.
Goal: RETIRE your opponent! Players start 200 meters away from each other, and while they are aware of each other’s presence, the low visibility makes getting a bead on the opponent very difficult, and the deep snow makes for poor footing.
Lore/Background Information: Players could be searching for some base in the Alaskan tundra, and encounter each other.

JoJo's OC Tournament 3: R1 M1 - Clarence Creedwater vs. Felix Arrowsmith

Alright, we’re going to start T3 off with a simple deathmatch, in which both contestants are expected to just keep fighting until the opponent is beaten down for the count. An approximate 24 hours after this match has gone live, strategies will be posted, and after 11:59PM Central Standard Time on January Seventh, votes will close and the match results will be announced with the launch of match 3.
“Howdy, folks! Been a minute since me and T contacted ya’ll, huh? We got some info that might be useful to you while you’re out on your search, though I’ll be warnin’ you now, it’s all a bit hazy. One of our informants, ya see, he had a bit of a run-in with some uncharitable sorts. He thought that he was pressin’ some good info outta them, but those rats were just stalling for time til’ their buddy arrived. Our guy’ll live, but anyway, point is, there’s apparently somethin’ going on in a… Uhm… T could you hand me…? Thanks, partner. Ahem, ‘In a cold, frozen place. Not quite sure of the exact location, but could be related to any number of active cases. Seems to be a big conspiracy.’ Well, that’s what our guy got down, anyway. I know it ain’t a lot to be goin’ out on, but maybe it’ll get you started in the right direction. Good luck, folks!”

Scenario
Felix Arrowsmith, retired hitman and one-time globetrotter, had listened to the Stand Proud broadcast in his rented blue pickup truck, and was currently driving down the slippery outskirts of Dahl, Norway towards a frozen-over lake. He’d decided to do odd jobs for the Good Vibrations to kill some time and make some dime just as this whole thing began, and now he’s found himself all the way out here. Sighing, he thanks his luck for his favorite mink coat, turning on a classic rock station to pass the rest of the trip and eventually arriving. Parking his car close to a little dock by a frozen lakeside and starting a slow walk out. “This better be the right cold place…”
Clarence Creedwater certainly wasn’t surprised by the dead body he found in the middle of the lake, and figured that this was what was left of the ‘uncharitable sorts’ mentioned on the radio of Mobile Fortress W.H.A.L.E. It was possible, then, that there was more to this little yacht he was on than meets the eye, and unlike many of his teammates he won’t be particularly bothered by the adverse weather. He should be able to investigate this for-
“Clarence, someone’s coming.” His sentient stand, Have you Ever Seen the Rain, alerts the living corpse of the sound of a car coming close, and at her insistence he abandoned his search for the moment to pop up on deck and see once again.
“Oh, shit, I think I’ve heard of that guy,” Clarence remarks to his stand as Felix Arrowsmith steps out onto the dock, slowly walking towards the boat and, thus, him. This is a stand-using assassin who’s rumored to know some powerful people. Clarence doesn’t know his stand, but at the very least can reason that it’s a smart idea not to sit around waiting for him on the boat. Watching his step, he hops down and scurries in the opposite direction, choosing to wait at the other end of the lake and, ideally, ambush him.
Felix, meanwhile, sees some kid with what’s clearly a stand hurrying in the opposite direction from the boat, which makes the already noticeable yacht even more suspicious to him. He makes his way over there, cautious for any sorts of stand traps, and slowly steps belowdecks, having his own Set in Stone out just in case. He doesn’t know if he should be disgusted or relieved at the cut-open, frozen-over body with a melted face he finds in place of any sort of stand-based trap, but all of this adds up pretty handily to him. This bizarre murder was the work of a Stand, and he just saw another user fleeing from him. He steps up onto the deck to see if he’s still around.
Clarence, standing at the side of the lake, sees the ex-hitman emerge and stare at him, and a menacing aura overcomes Lake Dahl. Both have seen the others’ stands, and it’s clear to one another that their opponent will have little interest in talking this over.
Location: A frozen lake in Norway! The lake is covered in a layer of ice, and about 100 meters across and 20 deep, with a little dock and boathouse on one end, nearby which Felix parked his truck. Frozen in the ice about 70 meters away is a small yacht in rather shabby condition and lacking fuel. On the boat is a toolbox with a hammer, nails, multiple wrenches, and several empty water bottles. Fish are swimming around underneath the ice layer, and the bottom of the lake is littered with empty soda and beer bottles/cans, fishhooks, and a waterlogged winter jacket stuck between two rocks. Felix starts on the boat, while Clarence starts on opposite end of the lake from the dock.
Goal: RETIRE your opponent! Be careful of the slippery footing, and be wary; the ice is pretty thin! Too much action, and it might just break under your feet.

JoJo's OC Tournament #3: R1 M2 - Lucil Caravan vs. Buffalo Soldier

Today’s match is going to be a bit different from the straightforward brawl that was match 1, which, by the way, still has active voting until 11:59 CST of the seventh, so go ahead and check that out if you haven’t already! Clarence and Felix’s fight isn’t decided quite yet! But anyway, today’s is an objective match, which work slightly differently. The goal isn’t a straight fight between the competitors to see who comes out on top, but a different sort of competition. They’ll still likely have to strategize on ways to counter and screw over their opponent, but… Well, I’ll let the match speak for itself! Tune into Match 3 to see M1’s winner.

Mere days after the “Stand Proud” broadcast, a fight had already broken out. Now, it was time for another fight, with whole new teams. A piece of mail was sent to two teams, consisting of an envelope, inside of which a simple magazine-pasted message saying, “You little bastard, I’m going to catch you”. The envelope, however, was sealed with a distinct symbol.
Its first recipient was currently in the middle of hot-bloodedly shouting her frustrations in the Winchester mystery house halls. ”This is clearly some sort of threat, Baron. The nerve, am I right? The coward didn’t even sign their name!”
Baron Mordechai nods at his companion’s suspicion. “Agreed entirely, Lucil. Still, though, the return address may be worth investigating, if you had the time… I could pay for the ticket, of course.”
”Want me to go somewhere?” The second letter, addressed to an illiterate drifter, had simply been waiting for him on a bench at a rest stop Babylon by Bus had chosen arbitrarily for a bathroom break.
"Yes," Thela Hun Ginjeet answered, having quietly read the letter on Buffalo Soldier's behalf. "It's clear to me that you should track down the sender and return here. Do not waste any time."
The return address was Pingyao, China.
Scenario
Lucil Caravan, second member of Cosmic Fire, was the first person to arrive, already riled up even before factoring in the train ride after her plane got off in Taiyuan. She was already read to pound some heads if she had to, and quickly began walking around the city. She’d heard that Stand users had a way of drawing one another together, and was wondering if making a scene would help streamline that process or just put her at a disadvantage.
Buffalo Soldier, stowaway-turned-teammate, arrived slightly later, having gotten an earlier flight, but then having had to resort to a bus trip (and not the fun kind, like with his teammates) from Taiyuan to Pingyao, causing quite a stir with his difficulty actually understanding or paying the driver and ultimately hitching a ride on top of the bus instead. He didn’t have any thoughts on the letter, as he couldn’t even read it. He was just told to go to the place, and given instructions and an airline ticket.
Towards the Southwestern gate of the city, after a few near-misses from both, the two strangers immediately recognized the other as exceptionally out of place in Pingyao.
“Hey, Fred Flintstone! Did you send me this?” Lucil approached Buffalo. She started the sentence confused, but by the time it was over she had already shifted to a hostile tone and suspicious look, waving her letter in his face.
Buffalo Soldier, ever the bastion of communication, said nothing, simply reaching into his pocket and beginning to produce his own, only to realize that Thela never actually handed it back. Instead, he just shakes his head and briefly holds up his hands before shoving her away.
“Well…” She sighs, resisting just going at him and at least believing that he’s not the sender, even if she’s not terribly fond of him. “You’re still really suspicious, so start talking before I-”
Lucil’s words were cut off as something furry appeared out of the corner of the Stand users’ eyes, catching both of their attention momentarily.
It was a fox. Weird, certainly, but nothing that seemed too worthy of more than an instant’s attention. It walked around in circles for a few moments, and the pair just kept looking at it. After that, for some odd reason, they felt like they couldn’t look away and get back to whatever they were planning on doing.
They had to catch that fox, and neither had really made a first impression that made the other want to cooperate on this.
Location: The city of Pingyao, China. It is a walled city with six gates (one north, one south, two west, two east). The walls are 12 meters high with a perimeter of 6000 meters. The city itself is approximately 1260 square kilometers. Both combatants (and Sweet Connolly) start at the southwestern gate of the city.
Goal: Catch the Stand before your opponent can! Players start next to each other and are both 50 meters from [Fox on the Run]. For the first 200 meters of the run, the streets the players are chasing [Fox on the Run] through are dense and crowded with people, making both running and seeing the Stand difficult. After that, for 100 meters, [Fox on the Run] will duck into alleyways. In these alleys, there is barely enough room for both players to stand next to each other. After that, until the Stand is caught, it will alternate between these two hazards every 20 meters. While you are encouraged to slow down your opponent if and when possible, if the two of you get too caught up in fighting each other your real target is gonna get away.

Durability: E (It’s about as durable as a fox, but has a weakness that many stands don’t in order to facilitate its ability: if you can see it, you can touch it.)
Precision: D (This is a totally automatic Stand with a simple ability: To run around. It is capable of rudimentary decision-making in terms of the path it takes and avoiding glaringly obvious attempts on itself but that is the extent.)
Stand Appearance: A fox nearly identical to Sweet Connolly.
Stand Power: The user activates [Fox on the Run] by simply willing someone to see it, though Stand Users are always able to. Anyone who sees [Fox on the Run] gets an uncontrollable desire to chase and catch [Fox on the Run] as long as they believe it is possible; this is essentially as long as they are in its range and [Fox on the Run] doesn't choose to hide somewhere the target has no access to. Someone can take a roundabout pathway to [Fox on the Run], fight someone, or even take a full-on detour away as long as this action is taken with the intent of catching [Fox on the Run]. The targets forget Sweet Connolly exists while chasing [Fox on the Run], though if Sweet Connolly directly interacts with a target or a target specifically deduces that [Fox on the Run] is a Stand and must have a user, that particular effect is broken. The only way to remove the primary effect of [Fox on the Run] is to successfully catch it or fail utterly to catch it and leave its range. [Fox on the Run] will automatically run around, generally away from those it has affected.

I can’t really think of much to say about this one’s results, folks. Voters were evenly split on whether raw basketball skill or a particularly hard to counter cheat would win out, while the judge panel ended up leaning in favor of Anna and Toto. Poor Ken got beaten out in both judge categories, not that any of them were particularly massive differences in points. Every team is now officially on the board with at least one victory, and all but Jade and Pearl teams have lost at least one. Will Pearl continue their winning streak here, or will Ruby team’s turnaround from their impressive M10 stomp keep up? Will Topaz’ track runner or Amethyst’s laser chicken come out on top in M14’s deadly race? In the latter case, you still have a couple days to help decide if you haven’t voted already!

Scenario:
Manny was feeling generous today, and decided that he wanted to get his teammate a gift. Considering his last attempt at gifts, living furniture, wasn’t received too well by half the team (Donatello Blackwell was quoted as saying “what the fuck is wrong with you”), he decided to go to the mall instead with one trusty companion, MAKS_13, specifically in his mobile terminal.
The two were browsing the comic store when MAKS walked up to Manny and declared a few prompts on his screen.

Manny thought for a second. “Huh...I see nothing wrong with this”, he said, grabbing the comics, “but let me visit that taxidermist we passed by on the way after we’re done in here. Seeing him in action and looking at a few of these comic book covers gave me some… Ideas, let’s say!”
Officer Crispin Freeman was harassing a bakery clerk that he suspected to have shortchanged an old woman three cents. The moment he saw how teenaged the young man was, he just knew there was something off about him, and now he’s taking advantage of a respectable person!
“I was just opening up a roll of pennies! I swear!” The teenager, being held by his work apron, waved his hands frantically, only to be knocked back into the counter as Crispin threw him away.
"You're lucky I'm letting you live, punk!" he yelled.
His fellow gun enthusiast and Crimson Chief, the much calmer Bond Jovi, simply rolled his eyes and walked over to his partner. “You’re making a scene, Officer.”
“Are you trying to obstruct justice, Bond?! Because I won’t hesitate to do what I must to enforce it! Even to a partner!”
Bond snickers, for only a moment. “You’re a hunting hobbyist. I’m a trained sniper. You wouldn’t be able to lift your-”
Shots rang out, suddenly, in the jewelry store and pawn shop close to where the Crimson Chiefs and Bikini Bottomites happened to be, and two store clerks dropped dead as heavily-armored gunmen began to ransack the place.
“Damn, if they killed our guy we’d have free comics,” Manny remarked. MAKS’ terminal simply turned to face him almost judgmentally, and nobody else was around to find his joke absolutely hilarious.
One of the men also burst inside the bakery and comic book store, respectively taking aim at the frightened, dubiously shortchanged old woman and MAKS’ Receiver, only for Crispin to draw his gun, firing a round square into the head of the attacker, while MAKS hopped into a portable game console the gunman had stolen and quickly shocked him to death from there, causing him to drop the device and MAKS to quickly return to its terminal before it broke on the ground. As they dropped, they began to fade away… These are stands!
“Uhuhuh, good day, shoppers. As leader of the ‘21 Guns,’ I’ve decided to host a bit of a going-out-of-business sale for this here mall! And that’s-” An obnoxious straw-slurping sound can be heard through the loudspeaker microphone, and the smacking of lips. “And that’s ‘going outta business’ because it’s gonna be going up in flames real soon, thanks to this bomb we’ve planted! So give up everything you’ve got, shoppers and store owners, and maybe, just maybe, my men won’t gun you all down when you try to run! And don’t even try to look for the bomb, ‘cuz it’s nowhere anyone would ever think to look! You’ve all got maybe 15 minutes before this place is blown to kingdom come, and anyone who tries to play a hero is gettin’ shot up too!” There’s another moment of radio silence, before he can be heard smacking his lips again and grumbling, “out already? Gonna have to grab a refill real quick before I burn up…”
As suddenly as things began to escalate all throughout the mall, bystanders running in terror and some even being gunned down by the armored fighters. The inoffensive pop music playing over the loudspeakers suddenly fizzled out, and the four stand users present heard a plea from over them moments later, the voice to which must have been familiar to them all.
"Wh-ao! Hey there partners! This is uh, this is kinda bad for us here at Stand Proud, this whole Mall thing. This lunatic is givin' a bad name to proud upstanding citizens everywhere! And uh... T, what do I say here...? Yeah, okay! We need you to take this damn fool out for us! We got a bead on about 5 Stand users in the area, including that lowlife bomb-planter, so one of you four - Get to it! Signin off- Oh yeah! Thank you, T. Whoever gets that bomb outta here, we've got a little info we dug up to give ya'll. Think of it as an incentive to work your hardest on this one, ya' hear? Okay, I think that's all I got to say! Stay safe folks, I gotta fly! Stand Proud - And stop that low-life bomber!"
Joe Armstrong was just returning to the security office when he heard the Stand Proud announcement, sucking down another massive soft drink and attempting to use the intercom to order his men to find its source and gun it down. Unfortunately for him, the intercom seemed not to be working. To make matters worse, four people in particular seemed to be mobilizing against him. “Grh, dammit… Guess I’m gonna have to hold my own here until my ride shows up… No matter! These don’t look like the cooperating types, and my 21 Guns can just rip through them all! And with those panels I’ve acquired, no way in hell they can find me anyway!”
Location: A 2 Story mall complex not dissimilar to this mall, with a more detailed map pictured here: This is floor 1, this floor 2. Each square is 3 meters x 3 meters, since this caused some confusion the last time we had a grid-based map. Civilians are running around all over the place, except for being paralyzed in fear if they get within 10 meters of a 21 Guns member, but the mall is spacious enough that the living ones shouldn’t get in your way. Every place shown has what one would expect of a modest-sized establishment of that variety to stock, though the pawn shop, wildcard that it might be otherwise, has just finished being cleared out and the 21 guns situated there are on the way out. There is also a security office, not pictured on the map, but maybe there was a hint to its relative location somewhere?
Goal: Be the team to successfully find and disarm the bomb hidden somewhere in the mall! There’s only one, but it’s more than powerful enough to level this place. Think about where members of [21 Guns] are located, and what the bomber said over the intercom. You have 15 minutes, and the locations of Joe’s hideout and the bomb he planted will be revealed when strategies go live.
Members of the opposite team will not trust each other, assuming at best that they’re going to hog the information from Stand Proud and at worst that they’re just there as bodyguards to the user of [21 Guns], trying not to seem suspicious. Regardless, working together with anyone but your partner won’t work out, and you will be competing to be the one to stop the bomb.

Stand User: Joe Armstrong
Appearance: An blond, obese, slightly tanned middle-aged white man in an American flag headband, sunglasses, light stubble along his chin, a black, sleeveless leather jacket, and a red t-shirt.
Stats: 2 in Speed, 2 in Strength, 3 in Durability, 2 in Tactics, 5 in American History.
Stand Name: [21 Guns]
Stand Type: Swarm/Automatic
Stand Appearance: Each member of [21 Guns] appears to be clad in full police-issue body armor, wearing a face mask with a completely blacked-out visor and no visible facial features. They carry what appear to be assault rifles. Down their sleeves, [21 Guns] is written in a black, block font. [21 Guns] can be seen by non Stand-users.
Stand Ability: Whenever a member of [21 Guns] is summoned or given an order, the user develops a small fever. The members of the Stand are mostly automatic; the User gives them a simple order, and they carry it out to the best of their ability (Rob this shop, stand guard, etc.) They are incapable of higher thought, instead relying on instinct; if they perceive something as a threat to them or their goal, they will open fire with little regard for anything else. The User can give each member individual orders, but the more micro-managing he gets, the worse of a fever he develops from using the ability. Up to 50 members of [21 Guns] can be summoned at once, although once again having many more than 21 will cause the user’s fever to escalate. Beyond this, the Stand only has firearms, and no other abilities.
Stand Stats:
Destructive Power: A (Guns are more powerful than an average assault rifle; individual members are only as strong as an average person.)
Speed: D (Average human reaction time and movement speed. Comparable to a 2.5 if they sprint. Bullets fire at the speed of… Bullets, and continuous fire can be maintained for 3 seconds before requiring a cooldown of another 3)
Durability: D (Despite appearing to be clad in body-armor, they each go down in a few solid hits. Even normal, physical strikes can do the trick, though obviously this’ll be harder to do than give ‘em a good old stand attack. When destroyed, they fade away)
Range: A (Over 200 meters)
Precision: C (The equivalent of a 2.5 in aiming, and individual’s senses leave much to be desired. User can not see through the Stand.)
User’s tactics: Joe Armstrong has found a security office not marked on the map, holed up in there with plenty of cold soft drinks to attempt to keep his fevers in check, and begun to watch the match on a security camera live feed as he awaits a getaway driver. After Stand Proud’s announcement, he stopped being able to use the intercom for any purposes, so he will be unable to change his stands’ individual orders on the fly. If a member of [21 Guns] is destroyed, he will simply manifest a new one to take its place, having it run off in the direction of where its brother was defeated with the specific intent of taking on whoever did it, spawning just outside the security room and heading in the ordered direction. The walls and door of the room have been thinly padded with DPSD-769 panels, which he has also done to the bomb, preventing MAKS from simply using his stand to travel through the mall’s electronics directly into the objectives, as well as preventing Bond from simply seeing them with his stand. The entrance to the security office and bombs will appear not to be there to ‘Bad Name.’ The panels, while not that much of a physical buff even make the door heavily resistant to even very powerful stand attacks… But lucky for you, Joe forgot to lock it.
Should the time approach for the bomb to go off, he will summon as many of 21 Guns as possible, simply eating the fever as he orders them to huddle, shield him, get him away from there to his getaway vehicle, and massacre anything that gets within five meters of them, with all but the 21 Guns members guarding the bomb also running away with their stolen hauls. At this point, it will be very difficult to get him, and waiting until he comes out to try and fulfill the “take him out” jojolities mentioned below will likely reflect poorly on your scores in that category anyway. If his hideout is found, he will immediately summon two more 21 Guns inside the office, with orders to fire at the door at once when it opens. Should he manage to be killed or incapacitated, any remaining 21 Guns will persist until defeated, behavior unchanged.

JoJo's OC Tournament #3 - Round 1 Stage Announcements!

It’s already been New Year for a few hours in Japan, StardustCrusaders. Are you feeling refreshed? Perhaps in a holiday-themed manner I’m sure has been repeated a million times already on this, the thirty-first anniversary of the start of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure? Well, after an arduous thought process, the judges of the latest incarnation of the JoJo OC tournament are also feeling awfully refreshed, knowing well that the stage select period is complete!
Check for your character below to know who you’ll be going up against, and to get an idea of where you’ll be fighting!
Of course, this list isn’t just a heads-up for the combatants themselves that in three days, our staggered matches system will begin to roll out, but for every interested spectator as well for when abouts they should check for new matches. All dates use American timezones, and will begin the early evening EST/CST.
If you haven’t already, or it’s a bit rusty in your memory banks, feel free to refresh yourselves on the voting rules as were mentioned in our announcement thread early last December.
We are also eager to announce that the judges are raring to roll out our staggered matches system that, assuming all goes well, effectively means that there’ll be a new match every two days, after strategizing has ended for one match but before its voting has come to a close and results announced. So, for example, when the first match has been posted, there will be a 24 hour period of strategizing, followed by two days of voting time. After the first day of votes for this match, the second will be posted, but voting for the first will not be closed until strategies for the second have gone live.
What this means for you, the players and spectators, is a more streamlined, faster-paced tourney where there should almost always be something to vote for and something to be excitedly watching.
In said interest of aforementioned streamlining, and unlike the previous tournament, there will be no free matches in the first round. What this means is that, short of a boss match that the player teams win, absolutely no match will go by without contestants eliminated. (In the spirit of fairness, should someone be a part of a two-person team, and their partner never makes an appearance to help with planning, only the absent party or parties will be eliminated. The matches will still happen as scheduled, but at that point they’re just for fun).
That was a bit more of a mouthful than I expected it to be, but I guess I didn’t want to make this post too short. We hope you all enjoy the tournament!
